“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23, ESV)

28/09/2014 – Evening Service: Innovative worship?

Bible Reading:

Leviticus 10:1 – 7, 2 Samuel 6:1-11, Hebrews 7:11-28

Sermon Outline:

Then Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each took his censer and put fire in it, put incense on it, and offered profane fire before the Lord, which He had not commanded them. So fire went out from the Lord and devoured them, and they died before the Lord.” (Leviticus 10:1–2, NKJV)

I.  No innovation in worship.

II.  God’s appointed way of worship is through His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.

Nothing in my hand I bring,

Simply to thy cross I cling;

Naked, come to thee for dress;

Helpless, look to thee for grace;

Foul, I to the fountain fly;

Wash me, Saviour, or I die.

Rock of Ages – Augustus M. Toplady

III.  We who serve God must regard him as holy.

And Moses said to Aaron, “This is what the Lord spoke, saying: ‘By those who come near Me I must be regarded as holy; And before all the people I must be glorified.’ ” So Aaron held his peace.” (Leviticus 10:3, NKJV)
