Luke 24:28-53
Sermon Outline:

We shall have the Lord’s Supper this morning. The Supper is ONLY
for sincere believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. Please examine your
heart in the light of the following question to decide whether you
should partake of the Lord’s Supper.
The Heidelberg Catechism (1563)
- Who should come to the Lord’s Table?
Those who are displeased with themselves
because of their sins,
but who nevertheless trust
that their sins are pardoned
and that their remaining weakness is covered
by the suffering and death of Christ,
and who also desire more and more
to strengthen their faith
and to lead a better life.
Hypocrites and those who are unrepentant, however,
eat and drink judgment on themselves.
The resurrection of Christ, as the evidence of the sacrifice of his
death being accepted, and of the validity of all his claims, is a much
more decisive proof of the security of all who trust in him than his
death could be.
Charles Hodge
The Easter story ends not with a funeral but with a festival.
John Blanchard
The resurrection of Jesus demands not our applause but our
allegiance, not our compliments but our capitulation.
John Blanchard
