I Our need of Justification

Proverbs 30:11–14 (NKJV)

11There is a generation that curses its father, And does not bless its mother.

12There is a generation that is pure in its own eyes, Yet is not washed from its filthiness.

13There is a generation—oh, how lofty are their eyes! And their eyelids are lifted up.

Philippians 3:9 (NKJV)

9and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;

III Receiving Christ the Lord

John 1:12 (NKJV)

12But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:

If there be ground for you to trust in our own righteousness, then all that Christ did to purchase salvation, and all that God did to prepare the way for it, is in vain.

Jonathan Edwards
