29/09/2024 – Morning Service: Wisdom and Prayer

Bible Readings:

Mark 16:1-20

1 Kings 3:1-15

Proverbs 2:1-9

Sermon Outline:

James 1:5–8 (NKJV)

5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.

7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;

8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

I What we should pray for?

II Whom we shall ask for wisdom?

III How we should pray?

Faith

Faith is a living, daring confidence in God’s grace. It is so sure and certain that a man could stake his life on it a thousand times.

            Martin Luther

Faith is knowledge passing into conviction, and it is conviction passing into confidence.

            John Murray
