19/06/2022 – Morning Service: Prophet, King and Saviour

Bible Readings:

Deuteronomy 18:9 – 22

John 6:1 – 21

Sermon Outline:

John 6:14–15 (NKJV)

14Then those men, when they had seen the sign that Jesus did, said, “This is truly the Prophet who is to come into the world.”

15Therefore when Jesus perceived that they were about to come and take Him by force to make Him king, He departed again to the mountain by Himself alone.

I Prophet, King, Saviour – a misconception

as they thought who Jesus was

Deuteronomy 18:15 (NKJV)

15“The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your midst, from your brethren. Him you shall hear,

Deuteronomy 18:18 (NKJV)

18I will raise up for them a Prophet like you from among their brethren, and will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him.

II Prophet, King, Saviour – the correct understanding

as Jesus really is

Luke 24:25–27 (NKJV)

25Then He said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!

26Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?”

27And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.
