1 Timothy 3:14–15 (NKJV)

14 These things I write to you, though I hope to come to you shortly; 15 but if I am delayed, I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

The church is:

1. The house of God
   1. The dwelling of God
   2. The family of God
2. The church of the living God
   1. Assembly/gathering of professing believers and their children
   2. Belongs to and is about the true and living God
3. The pillar and ground of the truth
   1. Support and holds it up
   2. The truth as contained in the Scripture (and no other)
