Sermon Outline:

1 Corinthians 1:22–24 (NKJV)

22 For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; 23 but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, 24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.

Martin Luther said to Erasmus, one of the great humanists in the 16th Century:  “The difference between you and me, Erasmus, is that you sit above Scripture and judge it, while I sit under Scripture and let it judge me!”

1 Corinthians 2:2 (NKJV)

2 For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
